The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership holds printers to some of the industry’s highest standards for sustainability across each partner’s entire facility or facilities. The SGP designation indicates membership in North America’s most elite tier of sustainable printing companies. Emmerson Packaging is proud to be among the 3.6% of U.S. & Canadian printers that are SGP Certified. 

Flexographic Technical Association

The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) is a nonprofit educational and scientific organization that serves to promote and support the flexographic industry. Each year, the FTA holds various events, publishes new flexographic resources, awards scholarships to individuals interested in studying subjects related to flexography, and recognizes outstanding flexographic innovations. 

How2Recycle® 

Member of How 2 Recycle

How2Recycle is a standardized labelling system that reduces confusion by clearly communicating recycling instructions to the public. Being a How2Recycle member improves the reliability, completeness, and transparency of recyclability claims. Where there is not one consistent approach to recycling across North America, How2Recycle enables consumers to take certain flexible plastic packages to designated store drop-off sites, where they are collected and undergo a special recycling process, eliminating the risk of the product going to landfill.

They are the leading voice on sustainable packaging and are passionate about creating packaging that is good for people and the environment. The foundation of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s work is based on the principles of collaboration, education, and action.

Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters is the voice of the manufacturing and exporting industry in Canada. CME is run by manufacturers for manufacturers, with numerous resources and programs available to help Canadian manufacturing businesses grow. Pet Sustainability Coalition

The Pet Sustainability Coalition is a non-profit organization that brings together like-minded manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, brands, and retailers that have a core focus on sustainability. Members exchange knowledge and experience as well as innovative solutions for sustainability issues facing the pet industry. The Coalition strives to promote continual sustainable improvement that directly reduces the impact of pet products on the environment and communities.

Facility Audits and Certifications

Emmerson Packaging facilities are certified to SQF Edition 9; a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) compliant scheme, which is comparable to BRC, and is administered by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI). We have also maintained a “Green” rating through the unannounced Ethical Audit by Walmart.

California Transparency in Supply Chains Act (2012) 

Emmerson Packaging has always been committed to the protection of human rights and conducting business in an ethical and responsible manner. We are firmly against any form of forced labour, human trafficking or slavery and require all suppliers to comply with all applicable laws related to labour regulations and employment practices.

Allergen Control 

We offer complete product traceability and only work with food-safe raw materials. We are also proud to be peanut-free in both of our facilities. 

We have strict allergen control policies to protect our customers (and their customers) to ensure cross-contamination involving major food allergens is prevented, from the receipt of raw materials to the distribution of finished products.
