This milestone is HUGE for our company and the packaging industry! Only a few years ago, many people believed that it was not possible to offer a sustainable flexible package. To date there are millions of products sold in non-recyclable packaging. These packages end up in the landfill, or worse, they end up as ocean liter.
Our expert R&D Team, led by Dawn MacDonald, thought to challenge the assumption that flexible packaging could not be made in a PE/PE structure, and now here we are today, only years later, with millions of pouches diverted from the landfill! Innovative products like Smart-LAM enable consumers to easily make a positive impact on the environment, effectively supporting the circular economy.
To put it simply, Smart-LAM is a high-performance, engineered PE/PE laminate that is available in an easily recyclable rollstock or pouch format. This product enables a wide variety of markets to give their consumers what they crave: convenient and affordable sustainable packaging.
